Last Season
Barca didn’t have their best season last year. With their only trophy being the Copa Del Ray. They lost out on La Liga to bitter rivals Real Madrid. However it was a nail bitingly close finish as Madrid edging by just one point. They also lost in the Champions league to future finalists Juventus with two stunning goals from Dybala and one header from Chiellini. This was just after the greatest comeback of all time against PSG. Going 4-0 in the first leg. The Blaugrana didn’t give up hope and 3 injury time goals put the second leg score at 6-1. Which made the aggregate score 6-5. Football pundits called it the greatest comeback of all time. Missing out on the champions league and La Liga was a big hit to the club. Barca fans will hope to have a much better season this year.
Problems
Barca is facing a lot of problems at the moment. The shock transfer of Neymar to PSG for 222 million euros has shocked the world especially Barca fans. The club was struggling to find a replacement but think they have found it in 20-year-old Ousmanne Dembele. The two-footed winger scored 8 goals and gave 12 assists last season in the Bundesliga. Barca is however still struggling to sign Coutinho, with a payment fee of 150 million euros from Barca not being accepted by Liverpool. This has really pissed fans off and they are now feeling that club president Bartomeu is the real problem that the club is facing. #Bartomeuditeya [Bartomeu leave now] was trending in Spain. If he wants to keep his job he will have to complete the signings of coutinho and Jean Micheal Seri to keep the Board and fans happy.
